It's definitely a clunk/ bang coming from the front passenger aide area. I originally thought it was the door, but with 2 days of no doors the noise still haunts me.
It "sounds like it's behind the glove box are or the A pillR area. I've tightened all the bolts on the sport bar, removed the glove box door.
This noise/clunk happens on sharp bumps or a speed bump. It's not a constant road bump clunk, it's only on hard potholes or a sharp jarring bump.
I do see some movement on my right front shock lower bushing. Could that be causing the noise? They are rubicon shocks up front. Would the sound travel into the interior or the jeep?
I've tightening everything I could find. I even tried to tighten the are near the widnshield and wipers.
CA bushings? Shock bushing? The only way to tell if they're bad is to remove and inspect. Remember to retighten any suspension parts on the ground with full vehicle weight on it. Yes, noise travels? Do you have grab bars? Check those too.
When was the last time you checked lift fasteners for proper torque? Start with track bar... If it's even the slightest bit loose, dis-assemble and check the bolt and bushing.
Those rubi shocks SHOULD be still charged up and would be quiet in most cases, but you never know.
After this I would look very carefully at the suspension travel area below the Jeep. Look for any indications of metal to metal contact that would indicate something rubbing/bumping/contacting.
My recent clunk up front driver side is the JKS sway bar disconnects lower stud. There is supposed to be a bushing then followed by the stud. Just ordered a kit and clamps to fix this.
Passenger side shock lower bushing is definitely worn and has play in it. Pushing down on the Jeep by hand I can hear a banging from the shock area. All the other bushing look OK. I'm gonna order up some Ranchos 9000xls for good measure. I'm also going to order a new steering stabilizer . Anyone have any suggestions? I still swear that the plastic dash is banging or something is lose behind the dash. Damn thing is gonna drive me crazy
Behind the dash sound driver side? That might be the steering shaft. I used a grease gun with a needle tip and pierced the boot located under the hood and loaded that sucker up. It worked! Wish I still had the DIY link but I deleted it.
It could also be as simple as the hood thumping. Mine was. Replaced the rubber hood hold downs with Daystar latches and the thump was gone. Food for thought.
It's the right side Clunk Sensor, and when you fix it yourself it wont work right until the dealer flashes the sensor with their fancy computer.. OH BTW, the dealer will charge $180 for the clunk sensor flash..
Upon further inspection is the track bar(?) that the steering stabalizer attaches to supposed to move extremely easily? By finger tips I'm talking.. the bushing looks smashed and worn out.
Rotating by hand I can hear a clunk noise like it's banging metal.

Can anyone help me on how to remove the passenger dash cover to locate the door flap area to see if it is banging against the firewall? Glovebox area noise
