After looking through tons of posts, I have come up with nothing. I just removed my carpet in my JK and there are holes in the sidewall behind the front seats. One of mine is filled with insulation and the other is empty. What the heck are they for? I plan to bedline the interior and I want to cover them up before I do. They look pretty stupid. Should I fill them both up with insulation first?
No clue why they are there. But I was not putting the dog fur Velcro/carpet back in. I added trailer (reverse) lights which fit about perfectly. RTV-Ed the back to seal it, and hooked them up to my SPOD. Added a "bed light" switch and I can light up the back when camping, looking for my purse (or, uh, man bag) in the dark, etc.

Nothing back there that I could find. If there is any wire (or anything else) in there they covered it with spray-in/expanding insulation anyway so you'd never get to it. Wouldn't make much sense to have anything electrical in there since all the other wiring is right above it. But this is a Chrysler product....
Apparently the holes are not in JKUs; only JKs. It irks me because carpet is not waterproof; get the JK really wet and you could easily get water behind these. Which you'd never get out.
What hardware? At this point I was planning on filling it the rest of the way up with insulation and sealing it up. Should I not do that?
