2011 jeep came with the soft top in the box.. Fuk.. 5 hours later (had to install EVERYTHING.. softtop onto assembly.. that onto jeep. Being about 6 degrees out didn't help.
At any rate we got to the back hatch window.. It doesn't fit. F'in thing is nearly 10" too skinny.. Thinking at this point, perhaps the wrong window was put in the box? There are also no velcro tabs. Can someone post photos of theirs?
Hate it to be something we've done wrong before we make the hour long drive to the dealer on Monday in still winter temperatures. :atomic:
The rear window should be a little wider than your tailgate. The corner sail panels on the main top should wrap around the corners of the tub and end where the lip ends that the plastic retainer clips into.
Just a tip, installing the top at those temperatures can make the install nearly impossible and you risk ripping the top or windows. The vinyl isn't nearly as pliable and shrinks at colder temps. I believe the owner's manual has a recommendation for minimum temperature to raise or lower the soft top without risking damage. In my experience, especially for a first install, a sunny day at 70+ is preferable. Good luck completing your install.
Top pic shows the gap on the right while the left is zippered.. Bottom photo shows up the rails lined up.. I can't see how there is anything I could stretch or install different there.
It would also be helpful to see a picture of the full width of the rear window with the bottom rail installed. Did the rear window come in a separate box with a part number on it? I'm wondering if the rear window you have wasn't from a previous Wrangler model as I believe the JK is wider than the TJ or YJ.
That second photo is the rail against the bottom of the window (clearly too short).. It was ALL in the same box.. just divided by paper and cardboard.
Has to be a TJ or YK... put in the wrong box. :/
Looks like you got a back window from an earlier JK/U model. The side windows and rear window are bigger in your model year than the earlier ones. Look on the box they came in and see what year they fit. It should say on the box.
2011 was the first year that Jeep went to a wider rear widow both on the hardtop and soft top. Looks pretty clear that you have a late model top with a pre '11 rear window.
Worst case you can buy a new rear window from Bestop or the dealer.
Give us some pics of the entire rear as well as the sides so we can see some perspective. One look at the full rear window and I can tell you if it's for an 11 or not.
Wasn't even thinking about the window difference in the pre 2011 tops. Rear window from a pre 2011 top measures just over 45", so that sounds like your issue.
From what the dealership told me is that the 2011 models have a wider rear window.. the 2010 has the skinnier one. ??
They are on backorder so we have jilly ducked one out of plastic.

Not all '10s are narrower. That is why I asked for the manufacture date. Some '10s with a later '10 date on the box would be the wider ones. Also the spring cable tension top and door surrounds.
Jeepers have their own language now too??!!! Awesome!!!
