I'm not using that CB bracket, but I wouldn't think it would affect locking at all. I have my sPOD mounted right there and it is pretty close to flush with the top and I can still lock the panels fine.
Keep in mind that, at some point, the footman loop was moved off-center so you may need to mod your bracket to have it centered (If you care).
Also note that none of the current Uniden Bearcat CBs (680, 880, 980) will fit/work with this mount, the radios are too thick/tall at 2.5" and the rear-view mirror interferes. I had to mount my Bearcat 980SSB on the passenger side of the trans tunnel cover, which worked out fine.
Thanks Willys, the bracket will be here tomorrow and hopefully my Cobra 29 has no clearance issue.
