Is the manual fixed in 12 and newer

I all
I am returning my 09 to the dealer I purchased from as Chrysler plaid a huge game sand in the end did nothing (honestly terrible experience) it pops out of first and is not right.
I plan to find a 12 or 13 with the new engine. I like the manual but is it fixed? Are people with 12-13 having manual trans issues? Should I just find a auto?

I don't think the 6 speed is changed, if thats what you mean. No problems with mine (2013) so far. There are a couple threads about rattling and popping out of other gears.

I have 3.73's, so I'm usually in first gear for about a second and a half... Don't even think my hand is off shifter enough for it to pop out before second.

You obviously did not follow the information in the big thread here. In any event the same problem does not exist in newer JK's.

Cannot tell you if they fixed it or not but I can tell you that from what I read on the forums I opted for the automatic on my new Wrangler I know that transmission well the same one that is in my srt8 charger so I felt pretty comfortable on its reliability.

The manual trans. is fine. It has been the same since 07. If there is a problem it's with the inner shift boot. If you want a manual, get one. No problems with mine in 4 yrs.

I have the manual in my 09 in the two weeks I've owned it I've read a lot here that basically states to stand in your dealer that they take care of the second tsb properly. The jeep had a full trans rebuild in June of last year. My local dealer tried to get Chrysler to cover it as I'm not the person that had the trans rebuilt therefore it is not covered with me but they tried as morrally you would think they may step up. I was told to take it to the dealer that did the rebuild in delaware. After two days there the guy that took it in acknowledged the popping out, he removed the boots and still had a pop out and said he would still look into it further for a cost. Then the sevice manager called me out of the blue and proceeded to tell me, it's fine, come and get it, no problem. "A lot of jeep guys have this but they just kind of deal with it" sooooooo no the manual is not ok in my 09. I spoke with the dealer I purchased it from and they are willing to take back the jeep. So in done with it. I enjoy the manual but don't want to deal with this in the new (used) jeep. So I'm looking for a 12 or 13 but do they suffer from same problems

I'm pretty sure you were told that they do not. However, I have a manual 09 and a manual 14 and neither has an issue. The boot and the shift lever itself is different on the 14.

07 6 speed. Never a single problem with the tranny or shifter. The shift knob was replaced said Carafax, about it

I am the proud new owner of a 14 sport with power wind locks, hard top uconnect Sirius, etc..... The dealer (friend) gave me a friends and family discount. So in four weeks this went from a 18000.00$ dollar fun 09 (popping out of gear) to a $32000.00 dollar 14 automatic
My daughter got to pick out the color (my son picked out the color of the Shelby)

I have an 09 , purchased new and within a couple of months it poped out of gear. Its f#%#$T% crazy!!! I took it to a dealer [ Chicago, IL New & Used Car Dealer | Napleton's Northwestern Chrysler Jeep Dodge BAD DEALER WARNING Napleton Chicago] it sat their for a couple of days.. and they didn't look at it... I took the jeep to another dealer [ Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealer | New & Used | Northfield, IL GOOD DEALER Fields Jeep Chicago ] and this time I demanded that they fix it. I printed out the warning , etc.. bulletin of the problem. Needless to say , I have NOT had a problem with the manual. I'm not sure what they did to fix it.

I driven manuals my whole life and this is the worst f#$% manual. But, I can can't get an automatic cause I don't know how to drive one

I openly admit
The auto is so boring, I enjoy the stick so much more. However the manual in these jeeps suck.

I have noticed all my rubicons on the lot with a stick, you have a lot of noise transmitting through the gear box. Especially in third gear

13 jku and my trans is fine except I had to get the throw out bearing replaced after 15000 km. They said shit get in the trany trough the vent and bearing went. Got it fixed on warranty. It is noisy and rough but nothing different then any other manual truck/SUV.

Its not a sport car....its a jeep

I just took my '13 Sahara in because my sat nav screen went out, and I asked them to look into the 3rd gear rattle. They said they found something wrong in the countershaft assembly and they're going to fix it (under warranty). I'll update the thread once I get it back.

Other than the small rattle in 3rd, I really like having the manual.

GF's jeep is in for repair on the first gear popping out problem. First dealer jerked her around, second dealer, was eager to help and fix the problem. Parts were ordered, goes in for repair monday.

I have a 2012 JK with a Manual, and it rattles in a couple of gears. Third is the worst. It doesn't pop out of gear though, as long as I get it all the way in. It does have a long throw, but it is a Jeep. The earlier years had a problem with the inner shifting boot causing it to jump out of gear.
I have more Electronic issues in my Base model Sport than I like.
