I cannot get music to download from my iphone to the hard drive. I can stream but would like to have music on the hard drive. I tried to put the music on a flash drive but the uconnect does not recognize the device. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Use a lower capacity flash drive. You can't load music directly from an iPhone so it's either CDs or a flash. I forget what the max capacity it will recognize is.
I think if you burn anything bought from iTunes to an "audio cd" it will load fine but it's a longer and more cumbersome process for a larger music library. I loaded music onto one of those small iPods and just leave it hooked up in the armrest.
I've been using a 16GB flash drive to copy my music to the hard drive. I think you have to use the usb port on the radio itself and not one of the remote usb jacks.
I've not tried to copy directly from my phone so don't know if that would work for me at all.
Apple uses a proprietary audio format iirc and im not sure if the head unit will read those files. I use a program called iexplorer and there is another called ifunbox to pull music from the phone. From there you have a number of options to convert your music to mp3
