Hey All...
My 2007 Wrangler X literally sprays fuel back out when I'm gassing up. It only does this when the tank is fuel. And when I say full I mean it is FULL! It pumps completely normal and then -- whammo-- the nozzle clicks off and gas simultaneously shoots back at me without warning. Usually it's just a little bit but sometimes it's a lot. I have to rinse and dry the entire back quarter panel of my Jeep.
Because of the angle of my tank most gas pumps turn themselves off unless I hold the nozzle up continuously. What I've started doing is holding the pump nozzle in tightly with both hands to give it a really tight seal; that usually minimizes the amount of spray. Today that created some sort of massive reverse vacuum because as soon as the pump clicked off, gas -- and I mean a lot of gas -- shot sprayed out. It covered me and my ride this time.
Has anyone else ever encountered this?
Thanks...
