Aside from welding (or screwing) in my own drain plug, does anyone know of the existence of a JK replacement pan with a drain plug for a 15 with the W5A580 (NAG1)?
Transmission Fluid (ATF-4) is Mopar P/N 68218058AA
Transmission filter is Mopar P/N 52108325AA
Pan gasket is Mopar P/N 52108332AA - it's re-usable so may not be needed.
I went w/ Dorman trans pan and Wix filter kit.
Rock Auto: 2015 JEEP WRANGLER 3.6L V6
DORMAN 265866 (265-866) Oil pan $ 39.79
WIX 58845 Filter Kit $20.79
Discount $-3.03
Shipping Priority Mail $ 7.99
Order Total$ 65.54
I have a 2012 Jeep JK & purchased the Dorman 265-866 and the drain plug is useless as the cross over exhaust runs directly underneath it. There is minimal to no room to use any tool to remove the plug. Anyone else have this problem?
I just used the Mopar pan when I had to change mine out due to rust thru. The new one is galvanized vs painted steel. Don't skimp on the gasket. It may be reusable but it does get hard and doesn't seal correctly. I didn't buy the Dorman because of seeing the online reviews saying the exhaust gets in the way.
Doorman installed, with Wix filter and gasket.
1k miles, no leaks (knocking wood).
Will deal with drain plug interference when the time comes.
It only took me 2 hours to do the whole job, including removing the transmission cross member and that cheesy T skid bar. I bought a B&M drain plug that I will have welded onto stock pan if I want/need to change back.
