I would go with those since Ballistic is taking for ever with theirs. The Synergy ones seem to fox the issue with the plastic cup in stock ball joints.

Yea they look like they will last a long, long time. Especially since I dont take mine offroad too much....I guess keep'em greased and they will hold up.

Do you know the cause of why yours went bad? If you don't go wheeling much, oem ones might work better.

Well I put 33's on the Jeep when it had 6k on the odo. I now have 28k on there now and while getting it aligned the guy brought me out to the garage showed me the play in the joint along with the clicking. It was doing that on both uppers....lowers were ok. Took it to the dealer and it was not covered under warranty. I just want the peace of mind that the front end is strong. I also gussetted the C's on my dana 30 as well to keep them from bending.

Seems like they wore out fast imo. But ya, if you get the synergy ones, just keep them greased.

yep...thanks for the info. I read on here somewhere where one person had them go at 6k and another had them go at 80k....maybe had some inconsistency in the manufacturing of these things. Also you hit it spot on about the plactic cap or bushing in the joint. Never would I have thought that until i saw a cut away of one.

I just put the Synergy ball joints in mine last week. I have a 2011 with 4500 miles on it, and the stock ball joints were already going bad. I go exploring in the back country every weekend, usually not super difficult trails, but half the miles on my Jeep are off road miles. The Synergy ball joints certainly look a lot more stout than the garbage stock ball joints did.

No...I removed the old joints and welded in the gussets just on the upper c's. Then installed the new ball joints.......

I think it may be from the roads where I live. I live out in the country and the old washboard farm roads are beat up by log trucks etc. I believe this is what wore them out and after putting on the 33" tires this may have accelerated it a bit more. So I am taking those out and replacing them with the synergy ones....

OK, I've heard of the heat from the welding doing a number on ones that weren't removed.

Never replaced ball joints, is it difficult, or for that matter does it cost an arm and a leg to have it done.
