JKU front seats in the back

Heard some where that there was a kit out there for removing the back seat in a JKU and replacing it with two front seats, did I hear this or did I make it up? Any info would be great.

Brackets often come with the aftermarket seats themselves. If you want to use stock seats it might take a custom bracket.

Cool idea though. Let's see some pictures if you end up doing it.

This is awesome, didn't even think about it. Third Row seat from 2 door with two bucket seats would be cool for little ones to walk to the third row seat. Always loved captains chairs for second row.

Now, using two front seats would leave a pretty small gap, but hey, third row is small as it is.

EDIT: Found a better pic of a factory seat solution.

Do you have any info on the seats used in that photo and what year the JK was? Wondering if you can use the master craft brackets on the front seats with a bit of modification. Obviously I would use non side air bag units

That looks like the picture of the interior of the Wrangler prototype with three rows that popped up here some time back, if I recall it was stretched.
If you get the fold and tumble to fit the space would be even more useful

You are correct. I posted more so for the fact it is doable with a decent gap between seats. This thread has got me tempted do do this. Would much rather have captains chairs in the back and a decent gap for snowboard and other junk.

I plan on doing this this summer, I will fab up the brackets. I am going to use 4 master craft seats, and put the 2 jk front seats in the tj. I will fill the gap by making some cup holders and what ever else my creativity will conjure up.

Unfortunately with me setting aside money for a house this spring and the fact its only 10 deg right now. This project is on summertime hold. But will get done.

Could even get away with a CJ console instead of fabbing one

Really looking at doing this since the boss says she thinks it's a good idea! I have already started to find out what the front seats will cost me to match my 2013 Black fabric ones.
