Leaky top

On my 08 rubi hard top i seem to have a leak at the back window. I observed water streaks on the inside coming from the top. Any fixes?

I have been reading all sorts of posts about the leaky tops, had I seen these before I got mine I would of probably had second thoughts. Most posts say when they are leaking in the rear a new seal has fixed it.

I wish Jeep would go back to the one piece top, didnt hear about leaks from them.

I've had my hard top leaks and my door rattles resolved. Hopefully...

The top issues I dealt with myself. After having all 3 parts off the jeep, I cleaned all of the gaskets and their mating surfaces and reassembled everything. Some folks are using various gasket dressings like silicone or armorall. Every time I take the front 2 panels off, I clean the gaskets and reinstall. No more leaks!

The rear window leak has more to do with water and dirt getting between the glass and gasket at the top. If it's clean and dry, no leaks. If you open it while it's wet, then it seems that the seal is broken and water seeps through and runs down the window. Just another P. I. T. A. Jeep thing!

Have your dealership replace the door latches with the "revised" latches and your rattles will be gone! (There's another thread on here about that one!)

So would you say that a 2009 would already have the revised latches?

I had this problem, too. Chasm has it dead right. Silicon works for me.

It does reoccur since road dirt and grime tend to migrate in every time you lift the window and expose the seal.

After a little over a year, I've become less neurotic about is, and chalk it up to being just a "Jeep thing".
