Hello, I am looking to get a tire carrier to hold my 37s however I want to retain my existing rear bumper that the 10a has (same as Rubicon Rockhard). From what I have been able to find i can either go with the Teraflex or the AEV. Are there any other options that will fit into the rear bumper similar to the AEV? Also, I don't really want to drill into the body of the jeep for the fold down or similar carriers. Looking for other options if available. Thanks in advance!
Maximus 3 opens with the tail gate and will hold up tp a 40" tire.
Simple without removing any parts.
I am running 120 pounds on mine without any issues.
I'd recommend the AEV one. We just put the Maximus on my friends Rubicon X...The brackets and bushings were out of tolerance and the instructions were absolutely awful. It is rock solid and well built but since we were unable to fit a washer between the bracket and bushing the powder coat will wear off and eventually the bracket will rust and need replacing. The company has yet to answer any of our correspondence.

Lets just say that I wont be buying their products, even though it is very solidly built(tolerances aside)
I had problems with them also....my stinger was rusting and after 4 replacements they just gave up on it....would not buy from them again for any jeep related products. Their stuff appears to be well made but who wants rust dripping down thier bumper.
^they have poor customer service when it comes to email. Call them directly. Everything fits snug on my jeep with my maximus tire carrier. I do agree and I did point out to them that they lack customer service.
A lot of recommendations and great feedback of tire carriers. I know I did not want to do any body modification, but that PSC carrier might be the winner. I need a carrier that I can mount a few accessories as well....hmm. The internal debate continues!
Anyone else have any ideas? The AEV looks off center in the photo's I saw....dead set against Maximus 3 and I carry a cooler on the hitch on trips so I Sony think the pic will work for me either (although it would be my first choice) The bumper comes equipped with a cap and hole already good to go. I thought just maybe molar would have came out with one for that specific bumper.
I run the Teraflex Hinged Carrier. It's more expensive, but it's rock solid, easy to install, one operation to get in the back of the Jeep and a centered tire and OEM look.
Has anyone tried the red rock? They have one for about $300 with a three year warranty. I would keep the stock one but I need to replace gate and carrier since my wife slammed into the house.
The version that is $300 reuses the stock carrier. If you are using larger spares, you need the version that is $400. Let me know if you have any questions.
I just Installed the Teraflex Hinged Carrier and the 3rd brake light extension bracket. I like that it works just like stock and looks like stock. Just my 2 cents...
