when you'd need to purchase a BB kit with shock adapters and when you can do without the adapters? This is my DD so I won't be doing any off road but I would like to have a nice lift look.

I see that they purchase two different kits, one with adapters and one without.

Teraflex 2.5 in. Performance Budget Wrangler Boost Kit w/adapters, No Shocks 1355210 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping
Teraflex 2.5 In. Performance Budget Wrangler Boost Kit w/o adapters 1355200 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping

Since my 2 door Jeep Freedom is a 2015 with only 8k miles, do you think I can use the current shocks or is there some benefit to get a set of perhaps Fox shocks.

I'll want to go to 35's at some point but at the moment want to have the lift ready when I wear out my current 285/70R17.

Also, can I expect my ride to improve at all with the 2.5" BB lift, or at least be the same as it is now?

You need either the adapters or new shocks... Take your pick. The shocks for any 2.5" lift will work. If you are happy with the way it rides now, the adapters work fine. I personally like the ride on aftermarket shocks and would put on a set of Rancho RS9000XL's since they can be tuned a little softer to go with the factory springs.

Also, many 2.5" lifts will require caster correction. Consider a set of geometry correction brackets to install with the lift.
