Manual transmission cable rattle help

Hi. Somewhere, in one of the many manual transmission threads I thought I recall seeing someone describe and run through a solution for a rattle coming from some cable(s) running under the center counsel.

This doesn't involve the transmission itself, it's a separate issue. It may also involve the boot that didn't get correctly installed at the factory.

Anyway I'm headed into the dealer to get a shifter replaced and figured I'd try to see about that cable rattle too.

Couldn't find it after searching here and on google

Maybe someone remembers that thread and could point me in the right direction with a link?

Thanks in advance!
