More rust!!

SO my 2012 JKUR MW3 has already had rust fixed and I have owned it for 1 year as it was a dealer left over. I am the original owner and the other night I found the paint is bubbling on the door hinges! Anyone else have their paint bubbling on their door hinges?

Are people having it fixed under warranty?

Yes your warranty will cover the repair. All the hinges bubbled on my 2009. Have it fixed before your bumper to bumper warranty is up because it will only continue to get worse.

Common .. Google mirror mod. It's helps prevent water from streaming from the mirrors and destroying the hinges. It's just a small unseen hole drilled in the mirror.

Ken's right, the simple mirror mod will slow down the corrosion factor, but if you have a bad set of hinges, they'll corrode anyway. My hood hinges were just as bad as the doors. It's the low quality metal that's used in the hinges. If there's a minor flaw in the paint process, the metal will start to corrode and bubble the paint. That's what the body shop guy told me.

Thanks for the help guys. I have had the mirror mod for about 6 months and the rear hinges are rusting too. I guess I will get it fixed buy the dealer. Six of them are rusted. Damn more time for my jeep in the shop. It has been in for warranty work a total of two weeks in the 11 months I have owned it.

Plan on about a week in the shop. It's a labor intensive process to do it properly.

I did the mirror mod... but damn, my front AEV bumper on the MW3 was rusting all over. Such bad paint on it... dunno what Mopar was thinking. Ended up cutting it into a stubby and re-painting it myself.
