So I am a newbie at owning a jeep. I have a 2008 wrangler unlimited and there is a light on under the "drive" light. So, I took it into my dealership to have it looked at and they are saying I need a new tire pressure monitoring system for just one tire. They are telling me it's going to cost $240. I feel like that's a bit of a rip off. Thoughts?
Get an AEV Procal and deactivate the TPMS. $150 and it does a hell of alot more than that. Align the engine with new tire size, turn on your running lights, etc. That's what I did. I went a long time without a vehical being able to telling me my tire pressure is low. I can look at it and read a manual tire gauge.
Dealerships suck for the most part, you can also take it to a Discount Tires or America's Tires and they do it for alot less.
I used the Ebay ones for my new wheels and they worked great. Be sure you get them for the right year, though. The Procal is a terrific tool, every Jeep should have one.
Hey Jordan PM me I've got 5 of them sitting in my garage that came off a 2010 if they will work. I'll throw one at you right. I used my Diablo to disable mine but I turn them back on when I go on long trips.
