Need help installing aftermarket headunit

I am about to purchase a 2008 wrangler unlimited sahara and i want to install a new headunit in it. i have a double din Alpine ine-s920hd from a previous car that i want to put in my new jeep. From looking through other threads in the forum ive gathered that i need a wiring harness and a dash kit, is there anything im missing? also can someone point me in the direction of a step by step guide on how to do the install? the jeep does not have steering wheel controls, and im not sure at the moment if it has the infinity system or not.

This is the harness and dash kit im looking at, are these what i need?

Amazon.com: Metra 95-6511 Chrysler/Jeep DDIN 2007 Dash Kit: Electronics

Many thanks.

The harness adapter you listed is the one I just used to install my head unit(2008 unlimited x no amp or sub). I am not sure about the dash kit you listed. I ordered mine through Crutchfield. their item number is 120956511 the price is listed as $11.99 on my receipt. The biggest pain was the rear support for the stock unit it will most likely need to be cut or removed. The wiring harnesses that are anchored to it put up a good fight to get the christmas tree barbs out. I removed mine as it is a pretty solid piece of metal and would be hard to cut. If you check out you tube you should be able to find videos on taking the dash apart. Its not hard to do.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that does help. The number for the dash kit matched up with what crutchfield suggested, but the headunit i have is no longer for sale, so i used an equivalent alpine headunit as a comparison on the site. Did you have to get an antenna adapter for your installation?

Sorry I forgot that.
I did need one. I installed a jvc unit and they sent 2 adapters I am 99% sure it was the 12044ec18 Motorola antenna cable. They also sent a 12040eu10 euro antenna adapter that I did not use. 1% chance I mixed up the adapters. I am looking at the invoice for info.
One other thing, the dash adapter can be easily installed wrong. Mine has one side sticking out more at the top than the other. It does not cause install issues it just looks stupid. I will be fixing it soon I did not have time to redo it since I was totally done and tools away before I caught it.

Thanks, Ill keep that in mind when installing the dash kit. Do I have to worry about moving any wires around with the wiring harness, or is it a simple plug everything in kind of installation?

You need to make the connections from the head unit to the adapter then its as simple as plugging it in.
