I work at a salvage yard and the other day we had a 2010 4dr Rubicon come in rolled over. The body and roll bar is in good shape. The front is demolished frame is twisted and the axles are sold. I can buy the body for $600. And after some investigation I found the wheelbase to be 116". And my thinking is a Chevy K10 short bed has a wheelbase of 117.5" I have a k10 frame with 3/4 ton axles. Am I stupid in thinking about putting the jk on the k10? I think it would be a badass build. Thanks in advance!

Hey Farmerguy. Sounds like a cool project if you have the skills, equipment, (and time) to pull it off. Do you have the Chevy running gear in that K10 so you'd be just fitting the Jeep body to the Chevy frame? If so it would be a lot more doable I think than if youd have to fit all the Jeep stuff in your K10 frame. Either way it could be done with a lot of fabbing. Depending on what you want the end result to be but if it were mine I would really be wanting that Chevy power train over the Jeep stuff. Understand thats just my .02 which is worth what you paid for it. Some of the Jeep purists may be offened which would only add to the fun.
Good luck!

Yeah the only computer will be my smartphone! I am going to work today to buy it so I can get started on it ASAP. I am going to use the steering column from the k10 so all the stock chevy steering will be used. Axles have 4 wheel discs with 4.56 gears and lockers in front and rear. I am thinking of running 37's on it when I get it finished.
