I just purchased a 2010 jeep wrangler unlimited islander edition and it has factory stereo in it. It has original steering wheel so no buttons or technology in steering wheel. I would like to replace stereo with a unit that has navigation and Bluetooth and possibly a back up camera. Is this possible and if so is it difficult to do? Thank you for your help :happyyes:
The stock radio head units are interchangeable. A unit from another wrangler will plug in. You will need the NAV antenna and possibly the bluetooth module. Depending on the unit you get. There are 2 models with plenty of flavors. They fall into 2 groups. 430N and 730N.
They are identified by 3 letter codes that are on the lower right hand side of the bezel.
The latest are RHD (430N) and RHR (730N).
The RHD requires a Bluetooth module. The RHR has it built in.
There are earlier models and some of the 430s do not come with NAV.

Pardon my ignorance but am I to understand that I can remove the stock radio and install a factory Navigation unit in it's place? MY 2012 Wrangler already has Bluetooth and Sirius satellite radio.
Hi, I thought jeep made in year 2012 and newer model nev/stereo will not work with 2010 and older do to different onboard computer? " not sure what it was call.
The 730N and 430N are direct replacements for the stock 130/S units. You unbolt the one, bolt in the other. The connectors all work. Even the steering wheel controls.
If you have the bluetooth, you should get the 430N. As it is compatible with your bluetooth setup.
There is no difference in the model years. Other than the anti-theft option. You will need the 4 digit security code to install those units.

There is a site that sells the units and can get the codes for the antitheft ones. The other way is or the original owner to go the dealership and get them to look it up. The need the vehicle VIN. the radio ID number.
Later models do. Around 2010 they started using one antenna for nav and sirius.
