highway crossing a bridge 1" crack - ☻ bad! Feels like it has a jack in the box in the rear suspension with a thud. Sounds like shock bottoming out but I don't see evidence.
Check the teraflex bumpstop you installed in the passenger side rear. If it is facing the wrong direction it will impact metal. Set correctly it will miss the metal as it cycles as you drive through bumps.
Thanks to everyone that has replied. I've changed the bumps top 180• which it did show sign of hitting , measure from stop to pad and jacked up one side to see if shock bottomed out. So far all of these are checking out to be ok now. I'll test drive and hopefully give a positive review of my setup when I return
Reversed rear bumpstops is a very common mistake. The Trackbar hits the bumpstop extension very solidly on the passenger side when it is put on reversed.
First of all, thanks for all the help and knowledge from members. I really appreciate it.
The only thing I actually changed was to turn the bump stop around on passenger rear. I did several checks and measurements as suggested but they all checked out ok.
My setup as mentioned at top is a teraflex 2.5" coil spring lift, rear track bar bracket, extended rear track bar links and then moved the rear links to the front. Fox 2.0 shocks and teraflex 1.25"wheel spacers.
I was told this setup would produce a good highway ride as I'm about 85% highway.
After the change to the bump stop the ride is amazingly good. I don't know if it is better than stock but it is definitely as good as stock. Keep in mind I've changed suspension and track width but am still running the stock tires . All that said after about 100 miles I'm happy with it and it doesn't seem to have hit my mpg Like the 6" did on the Tundra. I'm sure that will come with the addition of 12.5x35's.
