Great write up!!! I just got at 2012 JKU I had the dealer ship install AN AEV 4.5" lift When I go over bumps on the high way the traction control light comes on some times and slows me down real hard. Any idea on how to fix that?

Pretty tall lift. That kit flips the drag link and raises the track bar... Correct ?
Roll centers in check and assuming you are running the drop brackets ?

Do you have alignment specs ?

One last thing ...tire Psi ?

Not sure about the drag link...it came with the control arm bracket to adjust the caster setting which is in the right location according to the directions.. I am runnings 32 psi in the tires.... I am taking it back to dealership next week to have them recheck the alignment it pulls to the left some. Any specs I should tell them to set it to?

Take a pic of your front steering. Friend Sue runs the AEV 3.5" w/ includes a Highsteer kit.
(Factory right hand drag link raised over knuckle and track bar bracket)
Curious if you have a adjustable track bar too.

That's a very tall lift and if not setup correctly will cause a lot of issues.
Obvious your traction control is acting up and something is causing it.

How's it drive overall ? Any vibes/shakes ?

Toe is about all for alignment. Adjustable track bars for axle center. The drop brackets should have caster 4-5*
And toe in which should be set to 1/8 in total.

Chalk test your tires for optimal psi. I'm running 24-25 psi in my 35's

Run a chalk line across the tread and drive back and forth a few times. The wear will tell you if the tire needs air or too much.

Too much air the chalk line will wear from the center.

You want the chalk evenly worn off across the tread.

Just reaching but, does the steering wheel not being centered possibly be a cause of the traction control issue?

Hard to tell. AEV uses a right hand drive drag link. Can't tell in the pic.

Unless he has a drop pitman arm his drag link and TB are out of sinc which will cause bump steer.

He needs to find out if the pitman arm is stock or dropped.
Look for the Mopar part number which should be visible.

the angle of the pitman arm in the first set of pics looked stock - i didn't notice the TB and DL being off - not good at looking at those angles in pics though... really easy to see in person..

ken's right - i was headed towards roll center though...

Looks like the AEV raised track bar bracket.
Maybe the shop was too lazy to drill the knuckle for the flip.

Raised track bar bracket also corrects the roll center. Now I assuming the tower is run on the back or he would have a negative roll axis.

Nothing surprises me with this one rofl

I recommend he runs a flipped drag link. This should almost certainly cure his problems.
Then make sure the track bar is also raised in the rear so his roll centers match. AEV runs a TB tower that raises the rear track bar 5-6"

definitely agree with the rear - a flip kit should help him out as well...

Maybe everyone will agree on this one: Assume someone has a good 4" suspension lift properly installed on a new JKUR with flat fenders and propers rims. 37" tires will give him a add'l inch of ground clearance when compared to 35" tires. However, the 37" tires will hit the fenders sooner, thus allowing less articulation than the 35's. Which one would you rather take over the Rubicon or a tough Moab trail?
