Noise from Stock Radio Unit or Something in the Console

Caveat: I know very very little about Jeep mechanics and even less about electrical stuff. So this may be a stoopid question.

When my Jeep is off and in park, the center console will randomly make a noise - at least for the first few minutes or so. It is basically a similar sound to when it inhales a CD. Is this because there is still power to the unit (ie for the clock), and at some point it recognizes some "auto off" command (ie like the interior lights I believe "time out") and stops making the noise? Or do I have a gremlin in my dash just messing with me?

Yeah, I get that too but I don't know what it is. Noticed it the other day while I was wiping down my interior to get some dirt out. I figured it was something discharging (seems to have done it about five minutes after engine off). I don't know if it's coming from the radio or what. Never really gave it any thought.

Mine does it also. I have no clue what it is but it sounds like the CD player is spinning a CD or something. Its normal I guess

Or we have all been invaded by gremlins! I believe it does stop when the dash lights auto-off if I remember correctly, so unless someone says otherwise, I am just going with that.

It's normal. There are two things going on. The radio/nav unit has a fan. When it gets to a certain temp it activates. The auto temp controls also activate/deactivate and cycle.
