oil level after first service

Dealer changed oil, I checked the level when it's cold the oil level is like half inch or a little more above the max the oil is covering the whole metal piece and it goes up covering half inch of the cable , when it's at operating temp and off for 5mibs it's on the max

Is it ok for oil to be this high when cold?

Sorry for my bad english..

Don't worry about it when it is cold!

Just warm up your engine, and then shut it off for 5 minutes, and keep checking it as you have already explained. THIS IS WHAT YOUR OWNERS MANUAL RECOMMENDS FOR A ACCURATE READING!
