Oil Pressure?

Why no oil pressure gauges on the console? Is it anywhere to be found on the JKs? I have never owned a vehicle without one, that is really strange.

Anyone have aftermarket options?
I find it intriguing.

Am I missing something?

It's a Chrysler- oil pressure's optional
I have to check, but I don't think the oh shite light sensor does pressure- I THINK (don't quote me on that! ) it's a "slosh" sensor.
You can always tap a sender for an aftermarket gauge into the pan (I highly reccommend Autometer)- Mark W.

Thanks, Mark....
I found this bit of info from a vendor on the JK:

The oil pressure switch is a simple circuit that is normally closed, if oil pressure is low it goes open and turns on the indicator light. It is on or off and just triggers the idiot light.

The oil pressure is controlled by the oil pressure relief valve which prevents over pressuring of the system. When it reaches a certain psi it will open and reroute oil back to the pan. If this is faulty then it is possible to have too much pressure, but I don't think that is the problem.

That's what I figured. If you drop the oil pan, you can have a shop (unless you're a solid fabricator ) tap a hole and thread in an oil pressure sender for a gauge- I believe they come with them if you go Autometer. Then you have an excuse to get a gauge pod, which is cool on a non-Civic Mark W.

^ Very sexy, minus the odd color- night vision, I'm guessing?

Also, wouldn't be as good on a 6-speed.

Also, (sorry to keep going ) my racer's mind says no vital gauges that far out of LOS (Line Of Sight)- checking those involves losing sight of the road completely. Or the track/trail. No me gusta.
Not being a jerk- that's a sick job ya did. Just not my style, ya know? Mark W.
