ping noise when putting in park -please help

Hey guys, just got a new 2008 a month ago. Anyway, I noticed that when I put it into park in my garage that it makes a "ping" noise after I shut it off. It makes the noise louder sometimes then others but you can feel the ping noise vibrate on the auto shifter noticeably. I never noticed/heard it when I got it but first heard it a few days after I used the parking break for the first time. Anyway just wondering what it might be. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks

Phil

It could just be the little stoper click into place on the notch in the trans.

Yeah, just wondering if there is an adjustment to make it sound normal. Could it have to do with the transmission linkage when it is in park?
