I have a 2015 JKU with the 2.5 teraflex lift and running 35's. my jeep has only 18,000km on it. recently my jeep randomly pops out of first gear. this happens only from a dead stop and it makes a big thud noise (scares the crap out of me)

i have a service appt at the dealer tomorrow but i know unless they can get it to do it while driving it they wont do anything.

its done this about 4 times this month so its not a lot but its concerning.

ohh its a 6 speed manual.

thoughts?????

I think when mine did it i just had my hand on the shifter and it pulled it down a little because that was the only time it happened. I put a 1.25 rough country body lift on mine that came with the shifter extender and mine doesnt rub anything. I think you can buy just the extender from rough country for $50.

Just bought my first Jeep and joined the forum; 2008 Wrangler X Unlimited four door, 137k miles. Test drive was uneventful, but soon after I signed on the dotted line, tranny continually jumped out of 1st gear. Doing some reading on the forum, I determined this is not an uncommon occurrence. Once I removed the inner boot, it shifts and stays in gear like a champ. My question is: The previous owner chewed up the insulation around the shifter base/transmission letting hot air flood the cabin. How does the community feel about spray foam/insulation to fill in the gaps?Just bought my first Jeep and joined the forum; 2008 Wrangler X Unlimited four door, 137k miles.
