Power Windows/Locks upgrade?

I know this has been asked a million times, but I have a question other than the aftermarket option...

I'm the typical owner who regrets not getting the power options (inventory is slim pickins in my area)...

Is it possible to purchase JK (2013) doors from a donor Jeep that are equipped with PW/PL and just purchase the wiring harness and OEM control switches for my Jeep? I'm assuming a computer flash would be necessary, are dealers willing/able to do this?

Welcome to the Forum.

Jeep dealers do reprogram controllers on CAN bus. The head unit is one example. Some do it for free but others charge a fee (~less than $100).

Running the wiring harness might be a pain and secondary connections may be required. For all the details of parts required go to to a dealer parts department and discuss with them. Go when they can spend plenty of time with you. Some will call their factory rep to verify any open questions.

I recommend looking at JK shop manual as a starting point.

There was a recent thread where someone posted the complete parts catalog which has exploded views of all subsystem for the 2011 JK. Take a look at it to see the parts involved.

I don't see why not- but all the doors I've seen are very pricey. In which case aftermarket (Electric Life) like I did is much less expensive. I only added power windows- locks weren't that much more but I found them unnecessary on a soft top.
With windows there isn't any flashing needed. I guess you would for locks only because of the key fob/remote???....

The locks are tied in to the ignition and alarm for some features. I doubt the CAN bus controller is programmed for them at the factory.
