Radar Detector

It's bought a radar detector. Is there any way to run the wire that plugs into the outlet behind the dash and up to the windshield?

Figured it out. It wasn't hard. Took about 20 minutes.

A buddy gave it to me because he bought a new one. It's actually super accurate.

Yes people still use them. I love my Valentine 1. But I see no need to use it in my Jeep, My Vette on the other hand it is a useful tool.

People still use them? Yes, if you don't drive like a scared little girl and your car can exceed the posted speed limit.

Escort makes detectors that use apps to link other detector users. You're supposed to mark the locations of speed traps, speed cameras, cops, etc.

This is idiocy because I want the cops to bust the other guys as I sail by. Besides, if you're driving slow enough to use a damn app to mark locations, you're not driving fast enough to use a radar detector.

Hah... It's against the law to do anything on your phone while driving - so why buy an app? But yeah, if I'm speeding I always speed by the speeders that got stopped by the cops. This is the best time you can speed through speed traps - when they are busy. The task is to be the one that doesn't get caught. Therefore someone that has a radar detector is not going to help me unless they offer fair warning.

This century old desire to avoid speeding tickets is just that - an old concept.

If you just go the speed limit within 5 to 10 MPH you probably won't get stopped.

FYI...

Confucius say: "It is only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realize going the speed limit has nothing to do with being a girl."

There are people that respect the law, general safety, and have respect for other motorists that aren't scared little girls...

Then there are people that have no respect for the law or other motorists who drive the speed limit in the left hand lane.

There are people who won't admit their little 4.10 geared V6 brick can't push the air out of the way to drive faster than a scared little girl.

In the USA, the First Amendment protects dyslectics' right to curse in the left lane. Yo!

Depends on your state.

I've got a $140 ticket from a cop who started the conversation with "Now I know you were just keeping up with traffic but..." that disagrees with you. 7 over, and I was in the middle of the pack.

What does that even mean?

No matter, this post has outlived it's usefulness and is now closed.
