RealWheels 2.5" Pre-Runner Light Bar

I am looking to add a light bar to my stock bumper, does anyone have the RealWheels 2.5" Pre-Runner Light Bar installed?

On Quadratec, they have only 1 picture:
RealWheels RW310-25-J - RealWheels 2.5" Pre-Runner Light Bar for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

But I was hoping to get a profile view to see how far it comes out. I've seen plenty of shots of the smaller light bar, but I'm really interested in this thicker one.

If anyone has this light bar installed, could you please post some pictures???

Thanks!!

I have the smaller one and it's really well made. Sturdy attachment to bumper brackets. Sorry can't help with the larger one.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but you might want to also look at the MBRP Grill Guard and Light Mount. It is a really solid piece. All the brackets are laser cut from 10 gauge steel and hoop itself it 3" tubing.

Here is as close to a profile view as I could find:

And here is a writeup for the install and light wiring.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like a quote!

Hey Ryan, thanks for the info, but I like the look of the RealWheels one over the MBRP one

I know, i'm a pain, but just trying to make the best decision

Not a pain at all! Just wanted to throw another option your way. Good luck making your decision. I'm pretty particular about what I put on my rig as well and sometimes it takes forever to pull the trigger on things.

I can't help on the thicker one either, but have the thin one and really like it. Easy to install. Very solid/sturdy with the mounting locations. I am running some KC slimlites on it. Doesn't stick out too far, but a nice angle so that it's easy to pop the grill off and back on without any issues from the bar.

Sorry, I was off-line for a while. Install was easy. I made it a bit harder by cutting holes into the plastic piece instead of just cutting the ends off as in the instructions. I wanted it to look a bit cleaner and I still think it was worht the extra time.

Dumb question. How do u think the light bar would look without lights? Not sure I'll have enough cash for lights but would want to put the bar on as soon as I get it.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I was thinking about getting the original thinner one but I really think I would be happier with the new 2.5". I will probably run without lights for a while...it will look fine. I then plan to mount the lights upside down (inside the hoop) like Wolfpack has his.

I'm thinking the 2.5 as well...then do the lights down the road...when are you planning on pulling the trigger? My birthday is in a couple weeks, and my wife doesn't mind buying mods for the jeep, so I might wait till then. Once I get it installed, I'll definitely post pictures

good luck!

I'll probably get one in the next 30 days or so. Not in a huge rush but I have been leaning toward the RealWheels bar for some time. I just wish more people had them, especially the new, bigger one, so we could see pictures!

Not a dumb question at all. I think it looks good even without the lights, and ran it without them for ~6 months or so. Really changes the look and provides a solid functional unit for lights later on. The tabs are relatively hidden unless you are right up on it. This is an old photo prior to the lights... and wheels and tires, leveling kit, shocks, etc. modding is a marathon not a sprint :-)

I used a hole saw to start and then expanded it with a Dremmel using a sanding drum bit. Took a lot of time (trim, check fit, trim, check fit, drink beer, trim...) but I think it works better than just cutting the ends off.

brilliant instructions: trim, check fit, trim, check fit, drink beer, trim

and if you trim too much or don't like it, just do what I did and use the dremmel to cut the whole end off. then drink more beer.

the brackets I received were bronze color. I did paint them black and they blend right in with the frame.

did you cut the ends off the bumper spacer plate or did you cut a hole?

If you cut the ends off, can you post a picture with a view from above? I'm trying to plan ahead and see if I want to try to cut the hole or just cut the ends off

Thanks!!

Right now I am leaning towards the thicker one, but just curious, how much do you want for the thinner one? Any pictures?

I only have one picture of it installed currently, it's here:
Mr. Sinister's Jeep Profile :: (You're my boy) Blue!!

If you're interested, I can take a couple of it. Since you're so close, I could sell it to you for $75 if you want to pick it up, $100 to ship it to you.
