Rear Defrost Cable Detached...

The little pod at the end of the rear defrost cable detached from the rear window.. Can I just put it back in place with electrical tape?

I believe there is a special adhesive that you can buy at your local auto parts store for re-attaching the part.

The electric tap won't work, you will need one of these kits. They come with the stuff needed to reattach the connector to the window.

The dealer told me it was not fixable and replaced the whole back glass.

I was able to repair mine successfully with the kit from the local parts store. Take your time and follow the directions carefully. You may have to trim a bit of the cover on the contact that attaches to the glass to make sure to make sure you have good contact. If you feel uncomfortable, maybe call a local glass repair shop. I fixed mine inside a heated garage to help the activator and adhesive set up properly.

It's too cold out to use that kit. I just took it to the dealer today. They're replacing the entire rear glass assembly because the repair kit for this known issue is on back order. It's such a waste, but that's all they can do... I'll definitely be buying another Jeep from this dealer when the time comes. A1 service.
