Rear Door Not Connected to Power Locks

Hello. My 2008 JK has power locks, but the rear left door doesn't seem to be connected. When I press the button to lock or unlock on the key or in the car, all doors (locks) respond, but the rear left door won't. I haven't taken it in to the mechanic yet, but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced a similar problem or might know the reason for it and a fix for it. Thanks.

Did you check to see if the harness was connected to the door?

No I haven't. What's the best way to do that?

Quick question, since it has power locks, does it also have power windows? If so do they work? It could be a loose plug where it goes inside the B-pillar as mentioned above, or it could be the power lock mechanism inside the door latch. My old XJ did that and I ended up having to replace the latch.

Move the front seats forward and pop the cover on the B pillar (middle of car) all the way to the bottom. You should see the harnesses there. Probably unplugged when the previous owner removed the doors and forgot to put them back in.

Ok so I do have power windows that work and they work for all four doors. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting all of the wiring in the door and it still doesn't work. Any other thoughts?

My guess would be a bad lock solenoid. Solenoid is located inside the door panel. First thing to check would be whether or not you are getting power to the solenoid. That would require a voltmeter and taking the door panel off to test the solenoid. May just find a loose wire at the solenoid.

Great thanks. Is there already wiring showing on the solenoid so that you can use the voltmeter or do you have to cut off some of the wire casing in order to use it?

I haven't pulled the panel to check. My assumption would be that there is a wiring connector such that the lock solenoid is a plug n play type deal, so you would disconnect the harness and check for power at the pins in the harness when activating the locks. The Jeep harness and not the solenoid pigtail of course.
