remote start on 2014

I ordered my 2014 Jeep without power windows or door locks. Because I don't have that fat key with the buttons on it the dealerships says I can't get the remote start that they put in. They say there is only one kind available from jeep.
What I want to know is, what is the best aftermarket remote starts that would work with my application?
I seen some "plug and play" ones on eBay but don't know what I can install or have installed. Dealership said I could get an aftermarket one but I wouldn't have any warranty if something happened with it. They couldn't seem to name a brand that would work.

Any help here?

Go aftermarket. They are far superior and just get a reputable shop to install it and you won't have any trouble. I have the factory remote, and it was not much better than useless! The Compustar I had installed is a great remote/alarm system.

I have had many new vehicles in the last few years. I have had factory remote starts and aftermarket remotes starts. I must say for a factory remote start the one in the '14 Wrangler is very good for what it is.

As for aftermarket remote starts... be very careful of the unit you have installed and as important the installer that you use. Be sure your installer is familiar with / has done installs on a newer Wrangler or use another installer.

X2 make sure they are familiar with the Jeeps Canbus electrical system. If they ask whats canbus? run for the door! Just sayin...

I agree I have had both and the factory on my 14 is the best I have had. I like that it automatically turns up the blower on defrost no matter what you have your heat set on until you open your doors. It also turns on the rear and mirror defrost.

There is a post here about the flashlogic, installed it in my Pat, plug and play, took longer to find the long torx then install. Works great. I believe they have a unit that uses an additional fob instead off the factory

I foresee 2014 Jeep Warranty voided due to aftermarket electronic modifications.

Seriously, make certain they know what they are doing. I had a aftermarket alarm installed in a BMW once and was told later that if they had even touch the wrong wire installing it, it could have instantly deployed the airbags and blew the computer....all at my dime unless the shop was reputable enough to cover it.

YES, exactly.... You have had to have experienced different vehicles with different remote starts to truly appreciate the JK's factory remote start.

Also, the factory remote start coming with the new JK or added on by the dealer will not negatively impact your warranty or be of issue when you have electrical issues with your JK.

Another plus is the factory remote start is set-up with your Jeep fob versus an additional fob.

Something else to add to that - hopefully you have an auto trans in your JK. Anything with a stick shift gets stupid expensive to have remote start. I considered it for a previous vehicle I had and the cheapest one (installed) was just a bit over $700. Stick shift and remote starts do not play well together.

I have the factory 14 autostart and it is super....frankly, if it is within 200 dollars of the aftermarket option I'd take it...defroster/def and auto off in 15m...doors get locked, etc., one has to have the key to move,....and warranteed....

My 2c is if it can be done and and can be afforded, factory on this option is a winner.

I thought the dealer installed Jeep remote start came with a new set of keys, i.e., the old one's don't have a remote start button?
