Remote starter in 2008 JK standard transmission

Hello, does anyone know how to go about putting a remote start in a wrangler stick ?

You are aware that the one time you accidentally leave it in gear and attempt to remote start the vehicle, it may jump forward into whatever object is unlucky enough to be there? I did once watch an manual transmission acura integra jump right over a curb and down a hill into a tree. I wouldn't recommend the mod. The funny thing is that most remote starters used to make 3 start attempts before giving up so the carnage goes on and on!

Nevertheless, we used to bypass the safety switch, or trick it, back in college for our cars so it can probably be done though my post is useless for suggesting how to on a Jeep.

From what I understand there is a way to make it only start when its in neutral. Maybe a sensor in the transmission or something

There technically is no way to make it start only in neutral. On manual cars you have to have power locks. You have to go through this cycle I activate it BEFORE leaving your car. You have to put it in neutral activate it, lock your car and walk away. If anyone unlocks it or opens it it deactivates it and you won't be able to remote start it.

I looked at this before the winter and decided its not worth it. The jeep has so much low end torque that unlike a car, it won't stall out just by going up a good hill. It'll just idle up the hill and only stop when it hits something solid like another car, tree, house, or drives right out into a street and causes an accident. I didn't want to be liable for any of those so I didn't do it.

I'd suggest seat heaters instead if you want to warm up quicker in the morning. Then at least your butt and back is warm while your jeep warms up

I installed one in my manual TJ years & years ago. What a pain in the ass. I didn't have power locks, but it had to be left in neutral with the e-brake on. The wiring was a nightmare.
