Removing crossmember skip plate install

Researching engine/trans skid plates. Some are covers for the oil pan removing the bolts and installing a steel box that covers it. not my favorite , thinking that if hitting the box the bolts may loosen or break ,shift whatever,,,
The others hang from the motor mounts or frame ,,I like better less chance to me of damage from direct hits and slidingoff of..my opinion
BUT they require to remove the cross member and leave off due to installation.. Is this a good thing removing a OEM crossmember support!!I think the design engineers thought this was important enough for the stability of the frame, body suspension whatever their idea was for installing it.

With the Rockhard skid, it replaces the crossmember. It is much stronger than what came stock.

I just installed the full Rock Hard Skid plate system .. Oil pan, transfercase and fuel tank.. very nice setup and strong.. fits extremely well..
I dont see really any issues with the oil pan draining..

you would not be disappointed at all..

Watch the video on youtube and it shows the install and how it protects.
