We all complain about quality issues with our Jeep and aftermarket gear. But until we get people to stop buying that stuff it will continue. Quality companies that want to build good equipment simply can't compete with child labor and non regulations in China, not to speak of the excellent air quality. Supporting US goods starts with us buying US goods. We can't even buy wheels that are made in the US any more because we can't compete.

Sorry had to rant..
Well said I think you are spot on. China owns us....17 trillion in debt = bankruptcy we can barely pay the interest on our country's debt.
We cannot sustain this debt and we are headed for a serious wake up call. The politicians most or all of which are attorneys are fleecing all of us...ok rant over.

Not to disrespect the rant, but for an answer to the original question. I have a 'S-series' 50" light bar from Black Box Logistics, and there is NO whistle. The first one I bought from them (yes I now know where they buy theirs from) was the same underside style as the Rigid. Once I got to 35mph there was a whistle, and even more at higher speeds. The S-series is nearly flat on the bottom and literally not an ounce of noise. For $500 and more light than you can use, it does ride silent over the windshield.

oh I am all about supporting US products, you wont ever see me buying smittybilt garbage because their US competition isnt very far off in price.

We are talking $1600 compared to ~$250. I'm active duty and make less than these idiots complaining about minimum wage, so it's simply not possible to spend $1600 on a lightbar, I will gladly buy something 1/4 of the price even if it is slightly lower quality with no warranty.

It's unfortunate that it works like this, There is a fishing town in Oregon that catches all its own fish and consumes its own fish, but the fish is sent to China to be cleaned.

all that said, I dont actually own a 50" lightbar, but I have installed everything from China crap to Rigid bars. I put my money into drivetrain and hit trails

Smittybilt bumpers have worked great for me and honestly, I bought it for the design. The bumpers are still solid metal, and will take a hit just as well as any of the US made ones. Also, the design aspects can work both ways. Someone here in the US is welcome to take the same designs and make a "made in the USA" version of those bumpers and see how they do in the market.

Those ARB's are over $700 each.

The thing that many of you "Chinese product haters" don't realize is that RIGID get their LED's from China... fact.

Actually they get some components, not all, and they are built in the US.

The more people buy from China, the weaker the US becomes and jobs become scarce.....fact

Don't some of the "American" companies use Chinese manufacturers to produce their products? I know Icon does that, along with a high price tag.

I am in the same boat with most of you guys regarding both points. I try to buy as many American made products as I can to support our economy (hence the Jeep). I do buy as many american made parts for my Jeep as I can as well, but some are just a bit much regardless of quality and warranty. I like Rigid products and have their dualies, but just can not justify the $1500 cost for a 50" bar (even $1000). It would really suck to wake up one morning and see that its no longer on my Jeep. It's much easier to swallow the $300-500 cost, especially when there are other more important priorities in my life (kids etc., lol). My wife already does not support this expensive hobby of mine

I may go with theses. all of these posts are helpful, whether u like the information given or not. me personally,im buying the lights for their looks more so than anything else. i know i wont use them everytime i get in the car, that being said no reason to spend almost $2k on the job.

I have the 50"E2, all I can say is that it throws out an obnoxious amount of light...and it is badass. I use the 10" way more as I am on the road more than the trail, at least when it is dark.

Wind noise is not an issue, at least in relation to the bar....

Cost: well I guess it is a lot of money but after everything else it seemed a little petty to go cheap on the one thing everyone can see!!!

yup. We can argue china vs america all day, but at the end of the day a lot of things that we dont know about come from there.

I am active duty and deal with ordering all kinds of things. When I wanted to order a set of Kenda Speed Racer's for our pavement only Kubota RTV, I was quickly shot down because they are made in Taiwan.

So I took the guy that shot me down into the hanger and started pointing out all the things he owns that clearly say "CHINA" on them, including the kenda tires that he just put on his gov owned vehicle.

its just impossible!

we did just get 50" rigids for 2 of our gov vehicles and 4 dually's for the 3rd. suckers are pretty badass. lights up runway signs at 12,000 feet.

If you're looking to save a few dollars and only drop down to 180000 lumens, then take a look at the Lifetime LED 50 Inch Lightbar. They have a great warranty and some great reviews as well.

Let me know if you have any questions!
