Rigid 50" light bar...

Any body installed one of these? I am considering the 50" led roof/pillar mount.
I am wondering how much wind noise this may create in the cabin if any? I suspect there will be some.
If you have mounted the Rigid 50" light bar I would like some feedback/thoughts. Likes? Dislikes? Would you purchase again?

My other option is going with ARB bumper mount LEDs.

Thanks!

As far as wind noise, it is minimal and not anything that would stop me from running one myself. The combined light output between the JW Speaker Head Lights, Fog Lights, ARB Intensity and RIGID 50" Combo E-Series is insane! I will take a couple of night shots!

that is a lot of light.... anyone ever worry about the 50" light bar getting stolen. $1,000 for a light that looks like it could be taken very easily is a bit scary to me so just wondering.

Yes, good pics how about feedback??

Do the ARBs touch the bumper hoop at all?

I wonder how much air flow the ARBs block from cooling the radiator?

Minimal wind noise...hmmmm...what's minimal?

I suppose one could worry about theft, then again that is why I have the best insurance $$$ can buy which includes accessories.

I decided to pass on the "eye candy 50 inch led light bar", talked with a few JK owners that own them. One guy said it was one of the most very least used, high dollar add-ons he had purchased. He also said that they are noisy, the cooling fins do generate a whistle or wind noise.....and additional noise albeit minimal is not something I am knowingly willing to pay big $$$ for and regret later. For what it's worth.

Looks like I going to run the ARB LEDs on the AEV premium bumper for now.

Thanks for the feedback!

Cheers!

The Rigid 50 Inch LED Lightbar is a popular add on. I have read that there is a little bit of wind noise but nothing too annoying. They do throw a ton of light. 19750 raw lumens if you're comparison shopping. They have a flood and spot pattern available.

If you're looking to save a few dollars and only drop down to 180000 lumens, then take a look at the Lifetime LED 50 Inch Lightbar. They have a great warranty and some great reviews as well.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I run a 50 light bar from a company called truck and winch
It's a great add on
I don't use it as much as I want but when I do I'm so happy in have it
It is literally day light at night
The best part is it's half the price if the ridged light and still excellent quality

I just installed the new rigid E2 50" light bar and absolutely love it. It does create a little wind noise right now, but that's because I haven't installed the wind guards that come with it on the fins yet. The amount of light is almost unnecessary, but I think it completes the look of my JKUR. Definitely get the lock nuts if you purchase one!

The lock nuts are a good idea, but if they really want it they will just undo the mounting bracket and take that with the light bar. That way they "safe" or "stole" another $100 to $250, depending on what mounting bracket you have.

Correct, by no means are the lock nuts 100% secure. They would slow down the basic thief, but I can easily remove mine without any tools just by working the light up and down to loosen the nuts. That's what insurance is for though...

I love mine, however I used 1'' black water pipe to stop the humpback harmonica sounds from defining me. I also had the hood painted flat black to fight the hood glare.

We have never had any over heating issues from running he ARB lights or any lights for that matter. I would say a set of grill inserts would be a greater air flow restriction, but anyhow.

As far as the wind noise, what is quite to me could be loud to the next guy. There is some noise that can be heard when the radio is off at highway speeds.

Lastly, No the ARB's do not touch the bumper hoop. Feel free to PM me for some more pictures and i could further explain. Happy Holidays!

I picked up mine for a screaming deal at about half off. That'd being said I'd do one of two things differently if I was to do it again. Not get it or wait for the new curved style to cure the ills with running this light. The harmonic noise from these things is awful if you actually run the light positioned to throw light down the trail. To kill it you have to use the goofy rubber isolators. Another issue I'm surprised I haven't heard much is wipers. I had to repurchase OEM blades at alot more $ then aftermarket. Even Jeep dealer aftermarket blades hit the bar, because they sit up higher. IMHO the PITA isn't worth it (and yes I use it a lot). Id wait for the curved model or go a different route for lights.

Nothing beats honest feedback…thanks highwayman. I am glad I passed on the light bar. The JK has enough wind noise without adding more <grin>.. I do have the ARB leds on the way The ARBs throw a ton of light, I ordered one flood and one spot to mount on the font of my AEV bumper, the best of both worlds.

Have you installed the ARB's? If do, please post pics! I'm also interested in nights shots. If you could also, in the night shots, cover the flood to see the spot and vice versa.
Thanks!

if you arent going to use it much, chinese knock offs can be had for less than $250, and they work!

I am sure they work... The question is will the work when you need them to work. My experience is you get what you pay for. I would stay away from the Chinese crap, everyone who buys that stuff helps that crap hang around. Just my two cents.

Tweak 100% right. Their bunnies works! Works good at that and is a fraction of the price. Hate it or not the facts are there.

Yes they do work but you can see in the details poor quality, I have check them out but not willing to put junk on my Jeep. Went with a nice 10" light bar instead.
To each his own some people love the clone stuff.

Ya it just kills me that we are supporting China with all this crap coming in that is low in quality, fit and finish. I like what they did at SEMA show, a guy representing a Chinese firm was displaying some AEV knock off bumpers (all that company does is take products like AEV etc and makes cheap copies like the light bar)....looked identical but used really cheap materials. A bunch of vendors got up walked over to the booth picked up all the knock off equipment and tossed it in the dumpster. The guy representing the firm just got up and left. Not sure if he came back.

We all complain about quality issues with our Jeep and aftermarket gear. But until we get people to stop buying that stuff it will continue. Quality companies that want to build good equipment simply can't compete with child labor and non regulations in China, not to speak of the excellent air quality. Supporting US goods starts with us buying US goods. We can't even buy wheels that are made in the US any more because we can't compete.

Sorry had to rant..
