I installed a synergy draglink a couple weeks ago in the stock position. I have checked the torque and it's tight. The draglink still hangs down. I just wondering if it will mess up my ends or is it suppose to look like that when it is in the stock position.
Yeah they seem to just sit that way, Mine does to.tie rod also does it. When I installed mine I propped it up a little more adjusted
And then tightened pinch bolts. Seemed to help a little. Synergy sells a kit prevent that droop but I don't think it's recommend
If you do heavy flexing....
Apples vs oranges. Can the RK DL be run in the stock position ? RK's is much more beefier and expensive. Synergy, much less expensive and can be run stock or flipped.
Why replace the draglink if ur not gonna flip it. It's not a strength thing like the tie rod hitting rocks. I'm running RK draglink flipped with the synergy tie rod.
Yes it's normal. The weight of the bar is pushing down on the joints. On initial installation with no turning yet the bar will hold its orientation and the joints won't droop. As soon as you start turning the off balance weight of the bar will cause the joints to droop along with the bar. To keep the bar in a higher orientation loosen the jam nut on the pitman arm side. Then rotate the bar up while keeping the orientation of the joint on the pitman arm the way it is drooped down to the max. When you rotate the bar up the knuckle side joint will level out and so will the bar. It will keep that orientation because the pitman arm joint is at max droop and will not allow the bar or knuckle side joint to droop any further. You do not have to loosen the pinch bolt on the knuckle side joint to make this adjustment. So your knuckle side joint and bar will be level but your pitman arm side joint will be at max droop to keep it there. Make sense? Sorry if this came off as confusing
Strength...
I bent my stock drag link simply crawling... large rocks, locked up and cranking on the steering. Bent drag link. Was not a big deal, adjust the coupler to set steering wheel straight and continued to drive it while I waited for the Synergy unit to arrive.
I went with Synergy because of my experience with several other of their products, it's reputation for durability and because I do not need a flip kit, and likely never will be lifted enough to need one, or want the added bumpstop length.
By the way, perfectly normal to hang like that... The weight is not centered over the joints.
