Hi, our jeep is pretty high off the ground, I was wondering if I can bolt side steps on without removing the factory rock rails? I need to be able to have a lifting spot for my high lift jack. Are the sides of the jeep the ONLY suitable place for a high lift jack? 08 jk Rubicon.. Thanks..
Look up ACE sliders. I know on the newer JK's you can run these sliders along with the rock rails. Kind of double coverage, but it's a usable step and you can jack on it with you high lift. I don't have the rock rails on my JK, just the ACE sliders and they are great protection, a jack point, and make for a good step.
I like the Ace rails and Rubi rails, but they're a little bit of a pain in winter. I get slush kicked up which freezes to the gap between the two rails which then causes a rattle until I break the ice. At first I thought the Ace rail was loose, but still torqued properly.
