I damaged my SKIM module on a 2009 Wrangler. No keyless entry. I found the PN online, so replacement seems straight forward enough. Once I replace it will I have to have it re-programmed to the PCM? What about the key, does it have to be programmed to the key?
Most shops that do a lot of electrical diagnostic work can program it for you or lockmsiths that do a lot of automotive work should also have the equipment.
Just to close the loop here, I was able to fix the SKIM module. Basically, the wire leads between the board and the coil loop that surrounds the key were broken. I took it apart, then unlooped some of the coil wire, ran it back down to the posts coming off the circuit board, carefully wrapped them around the posts, then soldered them. Luckily it worked, saved a lot of trouble.
