snow plow anyone?

Ordered a new jeep sahara 2 door and thought a western poly-or suburbanite plow might be a nice addition. I have run western plows for years on pickups and one on a little jeep would be real handy for light personal plowing. More maneuverable then a F 350.

I have 2 jeeps with plows, but they are YJs and I have a Meyers on one and a Sno-Way on the other. The Western package is nice. I have a buddy with a 2009 Rubicon 2 door that he uses to plow with. He has a steel plow, not a poly on his. The weight of the steel works better to keep the plow from riding on top of the snow. They do work awesome in the fact you can squeeze them into small areas to get snow out, and they turn on a dime compared to a long wheel base truck. I love my 2 snow jeeps for that simple reason.

Yea from experience I can tell you stay away from the suburbanite. If you are doing small personal lot. Poly isn't horrible but I'd still go with a steel if possible

I put a Fisher Homesteader on my 2008 a couple of years ago. No problems what so ever.

I would get a beater for that. As you probably know nothing wrecks/rusts a vehicle more than plow usage.

The fisher is a nice plow and is very similar to a western. Does the lights and everything stay on the plow as that is the kind i am looking for. Looks like the jeep handles the steel blade weight very well.

My jeep had a plow on it for the first seven years of it's life. And I'm paying for it now. Rusty frame, and all sorts of front end problems

Here is my 95 yj with the old style Meyers, which all the lights and mount system stays bolted to the jeep itself. I only use my 2 jeeps to plow, nothing else...and both are fairly clean underneath. Pressure washed every time I'm done plowing...that's the key.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Lights and everything stays together. It's quite easy to put on/take off. The plow and everything weights about 260lb., so that's not to bad for the front end. But hey, it sure beats shoveling.

I just put a BYERS SNOW DOG weighs 400# plus the mount. The front end only went down 1 3/4 inches. Made of stainless steel. Love it. 7 1/2 foot complete runs about 3400.00 plus tax installed. I like the weight and didn't want a poly especiallt to back drag.
