Soft Top Question

Just had the opportunity to get a soft top for a pretty good price. My JKU came with only a hard top, so I was wondering what hardware would I need to install the soft top on mine? I will be taking it off my dad's jeep and don't want to leave a bunch of holes and things behind from taking off any brackets and whatnot I would rather just buy new if I need to. Any help is much appreciated.

It's a breeze. Get yourself some Torx drivers, get a helping hand and prepare yourself for 30 odd minutes of pain free installing. And that's probably a conservative estimate. I think you might need to put in 4 torx screws?

Thanks man, good to hear. I've seen the videos on youtube and done it on the YJ and TJ before. Got the torx so looks like it will be pretty simple. I just wanted to double check that I wouldn't need any mounts, brackets, other stuff.

Just make sure you get the brackets off the roll bar, and don't just take off the soft top bars.

I also just realised you have a 4 door, my experience is with a 2 door but I can't imagine it would be that much harder - sorry. I'm sure someone with more relevant experience will chime in shortly!

If you're taking the soft top from your dad's Jeep you should have everything. None of the soft top components serve a purpose on the hard top so your dad won't need any of the door frames, tailgate bar/brackets, etc.
