Soft Top windshield gap

I have a 2015 two door, but bought a never used 2008 soft top. Everything is fine except for the fit at the windshield. It looks like there is a gap between the header and the windshield. I have attached a few pictures. I don't have the surrounds on yet because the original owner didn't have them anymore so I had to order them. Is there a difference between the 2008 header and the 2015 header that sits inside the top? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to give up and buy a brand new top when I think I can get this one to work.

Kinda looks like to me the fabric isn't stretched as far around the frame of the top as it should be. There is always a little gap and some weather stripping showing. Do you have it pulled tight and clamped on the inside, its close but does look a little further than normal (maybe not by as much as your thinking tho).

I'm no expert but to me the lack of door surrounds could be causing this. The door surrounds have a clip that hold the sun rider portion of the top which I would think would keep the top stretched towards the front. I could be wrong though. Check the difference once you get them installed.

^^^ this is a good point, once you get those on see how it looks, it may draw closer.

Thanks for the info. Turns out the plastic part of the header is cracked where it hooks at windshield. going to have to replace that at some point. the wind noise is a bit much. Now my driver's side rear window is the problem. The heal seal is failing at the top of the window. Is there a way for me to reseal it other than tape? the top only cost me $450. Even with having to puchase the surrounds and bolts I am only at $750. The header will add another $200.

So you will total at about 950.... could have found a new take off top on CL probably for that. A good deal 450 turned into 950 ouch.

Not sure about sealing the window. Maybe see if you can find a shop that does convertible tops they should be pretty good at that kind of stuff.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, bummer your up in the premium top range now. But that's the way it goes, hope you can get this one to work for you now, best of luck.
