Looking to have a Softop NX 66822-35, by a local shop. They charge $250 for the complete install, and $609 for the top. I know that the stealership top cost in the upwards $1400/1600 price not including install cost. So does the $250 cost sounds like a fair price?
Do it yourself for free in your driveway. You will be putting it up and down and probably removing and reinstalling eventually anyways. Just some you tubes and save $250.
Definitely do it yourself. If you ever built legos, this is just a lego just for grown ups.. It's simple too! Save that $250 and buy yourself some other mods!
Wow, thanks. Sounds like a plan. Been thinking that it would be a complicated install but I guess not. I may need an additional hand for the install but saving $250 would be ideal..
I just had 1 put on had them do just so i had someone to blame if it went wrong they charged me 100 bucks (hour labor) basically but I paid 700 bucks with a 50 buck rebate
Bestop has videos on how to put it together and get it on. Go check their website. I did it myself and it's just some screws and patience. Watch the video and follow the printed instructions. It's not hard.
just make sure you leave it out in the sun for a couple hours beforehand. Otherwise it can be difficult to stretch it. I know from personal experience :drinks:
I've had a trektop, trektop nx and a factory soft top. They are super easy to handle, just give it some time to warm in the sun before you install it. That makes the fabric easier to work with. There are some you tube videos if you search for them.
Quadratec has a good video on doing a soft top. I just left mine out on the deck in the sun for a few hours.
