Spare key off ebay

I my story starts last week, me and the wife went shopping with my jku. I ended up losing my keys. Long story short I got my keys back a few days later.
When I called the dealer about replacing my key they said it would be $200 to replace it. &150 for the key and $50 to program it.
So I go in ebay and find a key for $45 and have it shipped cause of a planned trip we are going on. I get it cut at the dealer for free and program it and all works great.
So if you ever need a key don't pay $200 to replace it.

If you have 2 working keys its a 30second job to program a E bay key to your jeep after its been cut to fit the lock if you only have 1 key you are S.O.L. and at the mercy of the dealer

After reading about members losing their second key and what the cost was to purchase a new key from the dealer and have them cut and program a second I decided to make a third key. Started out purchasing a key on Ebay, using the key cutter at work and then using the owners manual instructions to program the key; total cost was $25. Thanks to other members for the idea.

I bought my Jeep used and only had 1 key. I bought 2 off Amazon for like $70 and then took them to the dealer. They charged me $75 to cut and program 2 keys. The service lady told me it's a flat price to get up to 12 keys cut and programmed.

Why would a dealer quote you $75 to cut and program 12 keys when 8 keys is the maximum no. that the jeep will except? also why would you pay $ 70 dollars for 2 keys on amazon when you can get 2 keys from about $12 shipped on flea bay.
