Steering Wheel Bezel Replacement

Looking to swap the boring black steering wheel bezel (top of the three spokes, surrounds the wheel mounted controls) on my Sahara with the silver one used on the Rubicons.

What's it take to do? By the microfiche, it would appear that there's just a few screws holding it on inside the wheel hub.....but how do you get there?

I did mine last year, it's not too difficult. Unhook the battery for about 5 minutes broader you start to discharge any capacitors in the airbag system. Pull the 2 bolts that hold the horn/airbag on and remove it. Then remove the screws (some front and some back) for the trim. It's snapped in place, so you'll have to pop it out with a small flathead or something similar. The steering wheel switches for cruise and EVIC are attached to the trim, so you have to unplug those to remove, then swap the switches over to your new piece. Reassembly is just the reverse, then hook up battery after everything is done.

I ended up trading the silver ones for the dark gray like the Sport and Moab had, and then ordered the dark gray piece to match. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks!

The two bolts holding the horn/airbag in place are the ones on the back side of the wheel, correct?

You haven't lived until you've looked up Renault Alliance and LeCar parts on microfiche, trust me.
