Stock Bumper Stubby

So I have been going back and forth with bumpers not knowing which one to get or not. I don't know if id like a stubby or a mid width or full width (what can I say, I'm a female... I can be indecisive)I just don't want to spend the money on a bumper and then hate how it looks and then have wasted the money. So I am compromising.... I am going to cut my stock front bumper into a stubby for now and see how that works out. Saves me money, gives me more time to choose, and changes the look of my girl. Anyone do this before?

many have and is easy to do. Rough Country and VDP make end caps that look good.

I used the VDP endcaps and cut mine. Sorry, I don't have any pics. If you take your time and cut carefully, you could get by without endcaps. The aftermarket endcaps look good, but they really make the bumper more like a mid length than a stubby.

VDP will give you more of a mid width look and the Rough Country end caps will be more stubby. I kicked this around back and forth for months and vote for the Vertically Driven Products end caps if you are keeping the stock fenders. Plus I like the look of a mid-width. The install was very easy and I didn't take my time and was sloppy. In the end it comes out perfect though because your cuts will be hidden. Just make sure you paint the cut metal with some rustoleum before you cap the ends.

I used the VDP caps (because I got them super cheap off someone who replaced their bumper before using it)

I cut my rear up as well too, but there's no 'kit' for that.

^^^VDP, it took me about 30 minutes to install.

I've been looking at this for years. May very well be my next mod!

I was in the same boat. Didn't know what bumper I wanted, didn't want to spend a ton. Also didn't want to destroy the factory bumper in case I traded in for new.

Found this factory bumper modified on Facebook marketplace for $50. Was easy to install kept factory fogs,, and I like the look.

Don't hesitate to toss out an "in search of" factory stubby mod on here, or Facebook marketplace. You never know what you'll find and it's a cheap way to try out the look before spending big $ on aftermarket.
