Hi All, I am wondering if anyone has installed rear suspension air bags and if so do they work well or any problems? I pull a tent trailer and the rear end sags on the jeep so want to bring it up while towing.

I have a set from Airlift coming in tomorrow. I will install them over the weekend (assuming they do come in). I have a lift on my Jeep so I had to contact Airlift with the inside diameter and the length of my springs when the vehicle is at normal ride height. It turns out that the ones they are sending me are for the front of a Dodge Ram pickup. When I am fully loaded for camping and off road I am hitting the bump stops more than I would like to. We will see how this works out. At $80 at least it was not a huge investment.

I had them.....sending the 2nd set back once I get back from my vacation. Getting the correct bags for the factory springs woulda been easier than trying to get the right ones for an aftermarket suspension like mine.

My first set didn't fit inside the springs, so I called Air Lift again and gave them a slightly smaller measurement. The 2nd set came and they fitted just fine.

So then I put the suspension back together a 2nd time and aired the bags up. Two days later I noticed the drivers side not holding air. The air lines were fine, so I had to take the suspension apart again just to find a small hole in the bag - right beside the brass fitting. Take it from me, put everything together and check for leaks BEFORE you install it!

So after all that, I'm sending it back for good. I'm done taking my rear suspension apart.

BTW, I mainly did it to correct the passenger side lean. An added benefit was it gave extra support for when I hook up my trailer. Anyway, doing it to correct the lean was a bad idea. Yes it worked, but since I had no weight in the back, it made the ride a lot more stiff.

This is an old thread but I want to contribute a bit for others doing searches on this. I run a heavy 4 door jk with 35" KM2's 4" lift and have rooftop tent, water & extra fuel tanks etc on top of roof rack for serious bundu bash safari's. 250kg / 550lb on the roof plus fully loaded inside and I drive 120kmph / 65mph thru curved mountain roads and the Jeep is as stable as hell. Not once does it ever feel to want to roll over. Fine tuning the air bag pressures is the secret. Too soft is unstable and it will roll over easily. Too hard and you have a harsh and bumpy ride. Had this setup now for 6 years 60'000km / 37'000miles and not a single problem anywhere.
