Hmmm, TF claims this rebuild kit/joint can take on a steeper driveshaft angle ?

That is very interesting. I certainly have a spare DS to consider using this on.
The OEM DS are good quality just large diameter. With the pipe clearance taken care of it would make an excellent back up.

Possibilities.....

I wish all manufactures gave such great install videoes such as these TF ones.

Thanks for the information Ken

I am already considering it for the rear on the Rubi with the RK lift. I have room to carry spare axles and I believe a front and rear drive shaft in the bin under our pop-up camper. It would be a comfort to take those along on some of our trips into the Ozarks and places we seriously stress it out.

Real hard to drive home without a rear drive shaft....

ok, I like the idea, but just exactly how much more angle is derived from using this?
I haven't been able to determine the amount of increased angle from using this.

I also have 2 spare OEM fronts and 1 rear as backups.

Good question. TF gives a good closeup in the vid but its the factory joint. They should of shot the new joint/angle.

I like this very much. I am one who believes a lot of engineering goes into our jeeps. Some bad and some good. This join looks lime it can enhance a decent design for.most of us average Jeepers.

Just watched the video to this the other day and was interested in it as well. Seems like it could be a viable option to save some stock drive shafts.

A TFlex shaft with this joint could be very interesting as well. I'm going to stay tuned. Thanks for posting about it.

Well, my front driveshaft has been slinging grease from the CV joint boot. After reading this thread I jumped on it and placed an order for the teraflex high angle CV joint. In the mean time I decided to pull the driveshaft since it's my daily driver and didn't want to risk any damage if the joint were to fail.

After removing the driveshaft I noticed the ujoint on the other end is crimped in place rather than being retained by usual clips. This ujoint is not serviceable, meaning the driveshaft goes in the garbage once the ujoint wears out. The terraflex joint is a great idea, maybe FC should change vendors for this part.

Here I am throwing good money away on a stock throwaway driveshaft. I ended up calling and cancelling my order. My original plan was to save for an Adams DS. I'm not quite there yet with the $$. So for now my jeep is 2x4 only.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for the coming teraflex driveshaft. Im hoping for a fully serviceable unit and also a great price.

I'm feeling the love on this one too. I have the front off my wife's JKUR and it will make a great addition to my JKU. Ken are you going to keep this shaft as a backup or are you going to install it and run it for a while?

Edit: come to think of it It might just be some insurance on the Wife's rear shaft. The angles are good now but not 100% perfect.
