This pin fell off my brake pedal...

The pin that is holding this clip on fell out of the clip while I was driving this evening. I put it back, and will have Jeep look at it when it's at the dealer Friday, but can anyone tell me what it is and what it does? Should I stop driving my Jeep? It was at the top of the brake pedal....

May not have been installed correctly from the factory, but that is your master cylinder pushrod connection to the brake pedal, if that's the way it's sitting right now, I'd say it looks like it's in the correct position. Maybe get the dealer to order or install a new clip just to be safe, in case it has some defect.

I would be. If the pin comes out and the master cylinder push rod is not attached to the peddle you won't be able to stop.

The pin in the thing on the brake is me looking under the dash and putting it where I thought it came from, lol

What really happened, per the dealer, is that the spring on the clutch broke and I thought the broken piece was a pin and didn't realize it was part of a spring.

Since I have 50k miles on my '13, this part isnt covered by the warranty, $201 to fix it :-/. HOWEVER, there is a TSB on a squeak from the clutch, the fix is to spray lithium grease on it. My guess is that the break is what happens to the spring if you don't tell your dealer your clutch squeaks.
