Howdy folks,
Can anyone tell me what the proper torque spec is for the thermostat housing on a 2014 3.6 pentastar? I have searched around the forum and the net and can seem to come up with it.
Thanks
I've seen the torque listed as 15 lbs. and also 20.83 lbs. for a 3.6. The 20.83 spec. is also the torque in lbs. for the 3.8. Whether the 3.8 and 3.6 torque spec is exactly the same I'm not 100% sure. I would torque it to 15 and go from there. If someone has subscribed to the service manual maybe they'll post.
I just tried to torque my thermostat housing bolts to 108 foot pounds (what the Haynes Manual gives), and it snapped clean before I got anywhere near there. I wouldn't try getting anywhere near that much torque on a bolt that size. Dunno what I was thinking.
Doh! I apparently don't know how to read. The manual says 108 INCH pounds. No wonder I snapped it like a twig. I'm fairly certain that bolt could take 108 inch pounds no problem...
I always was kinda annoyed when a tech spec called for Nm instead of Ip.
but it obviously does keep people from mistaking Fp for Ip
